Tour Highlight
In the remote northern taiga of Mongolia lives the Tsaatan, a small community of Dukha reindeer herders who have lived in harmony with the forest for centuries.
These gentle nomads rely on their domesticated reindeer not for meat, but for milk, transport, and companionship, moving seasonally through snowy woodlands in portable tents, guided by shamanic traditions and deep spiritual ties to nature.
Far to the west, in the rugged Altai Mountains, the Kazakh eagle hunters — or Burkitshi — carry on another ancient legacy, training golden eagles to hunt across vast, frozen steppes.
With a bond built on trust and respect, these fearless falconers command birds of prey that dive at incredible speeds, embodying a thousand-year-old tradition of survival, pride, and connection to the wild. Together, the Tsaatan and the eagle hunters represent the soul of Mongolia — cultures shaped by isolation, resilience, and an enduring relationship with nature that feels almost timeless.
