Tengri Tours Mongolia offers a 5-day horse riding tour in the Orkhon Valley, Central Mongolia, combining horseback riding, nomadic family life, hiking, nature, and authentic Mongolian cultural experiences. This affordable tour is designed for travelers who want to experience Mongolia without a private English-speaking guide or dedicated driver.
The tour begins in Ulaanbaatar and travels approximately 320 km to the UNESCO-listed Orkhon Valley Cultural Landscape. Travelers stay with a genuine Mongolian nomadic family in traditional gers and spend three days exploring the Orkhon Valley on horseback with a local nomadic horse guide. Horse riding includes approximately 5–7 hours per day, depending on the rider's experience, horse speed, and conditions.
During the horseback journey, travelers explore the Orkhon Waterfall, rivers, forests, mountains, secluded lakes, historical monuments, and open Mongolian countryside. Meals are provided by the nomadic host family, including lunches during riding days and dinners at the family ger. The final day includes transportation back to Ulaanbaatar.
This is a suitable Mongolia horse trekking experience for travelers looking for an authentic, budget-friendly alternative to a fully guided private tour. The tour emphasizes direct interaction with Mongolian nomadic families and experiencing the Orkhon Valley on horseback rather than traveling with a conventional tour guide.
